The Club of True Highlanders was a Victorian assemblage of Scottish Gentlemen and preceded many well known organisations still in operation today. It was dedicated to furthering research on the history of Scotland’s people and customs before the Highland Revival of the 19th century.
Originally published in two volumes as The Book of the Club of True Highlanders: A Record of the Dress, Arms, Customs, Arts, and Science of the Highlanders, Compiled and Printed from Records and Traditions and Illustrated with Etchings of Highland Relics, and the Keltic Vestiges of Great Britain and Ireland by C. It is one of the foundational books of the modern Scottish culture, and has been recompiled, edited, and reprinted in a new singular edition by Palfrey Press.”
